~First outfit post of April~

Today was a foggy dreary day in Chicago. Unlike a lot of people I love dreary days =) I bought this shirt and cropped sweater yesterday and wanted to sport it today! The sweater is sooo warm since it's made out of wool. I'm counting down the days until I can wear springy rompers, shorts and dresses...I feel that day will never come though...

The wrap bracelets are my favorite accessory. I absolutely loveee them. They add glam and sparkle to any outfit!!

~Truly B by Ava Gray~

About 6 months ago I modeled for a clothing designer "Truly B by Ava Gray in NYC and had a blast. It was the second time I'd modeled for them. First I modeled for their Fall 2010 collection, then their Spring 2011 collection! They are a mother daughter team. "Truly B" is the daughters line, she is my age (23) and "Ava Gray" is her moms line, geared more towards 30-50 year olds. They talked to me a lot about the design process and how hectic it is. They said that every time they got a garment back from the seamstress it was not made correctly so it had to be sent back and takes even longer to be made! Sounds stressful. In the end it's all worth it though =) Everything came together beautifully. Here are my favorite images but you can click on the link above to see the lines!

Trends women love but men can't stand?.....

I was reading an article on Yahoo the other day by The Thread on Shine, and thought i'd share it with you!! I was fascinated by the list of trends Men "can't stand" that women tend to like. Can you guess what they are? A couple came to my mind right away and I was right!

1. Ugg Boots




The article doesn't say why, but I asked my boyfriend (who also hates them) and he said "there is nothing to them, they remind me of eskimos and they are just ugly." I myself think that they aren't much of a fashion statement and are to be worn for comfort while running errands etc, but that's just me!

2. Over sized Sunglasses



I LOVE over sized sunglasses! But, I guess Men hate them because they make us look like "bugs". I think oversized sunnies can do everything from hiding a hungover tired face to adding some glamour to a jeans and tee type of outfit.

3. Jumpsuits



I wasn't surprised that guys weren't fans of this one. It's hard to pull this look off, but if it is done right I think it can look great. Guys supposedly associate this look with the 70's and don't understand the retro trend.

4. Red Lipstick



I was really surprised at this one!! When worn right it's such a classy sexy look, but I've heard from a few guys that it reminds them of a hooker, and/or it's just a turn off because they can't kiss a girl with red lipstick without it smudging!

5. Harem Pants



Not surprised at this one either!! It's a similar dislike to the Jumpsuits. Guys associate harem pants with oversized diapers. Unless worn on the right tall and lengthy woman with heels, i might have to agree with the guys on this one!

Love&Beauty Eyeshadow Forever 21

Last week I posted about a new 40 color eyeshadow palette I bought from Forever 21. It was only 12$ so you can imagine I was a bit skeptical! I've been wearing it however, and am excited to report it's really great eyeshadow!!! I think the trick to any eyeshadow whether it's $1 or $50 is using an eyeshadow primer before you apply the eyeshadow. I never wear eyeshadow without it. I feel like the shadow goes on and stays on 100x's better with primer. I bought this Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion like two years ago and am almost out! It really lasts and is the greatest tool in my make-up kit.

My new obsession...

I'm SO excited to share with you this post! I received my vintage necklace in the mail a few days ago (see post below) from the wonderful blogger baublesbeadsandbangles , Etsy Store. It was just as beautiful if not more in person. I've been working the past few days and haven't been able to wear the necklace yet until today!! It went great with my pale pink cashmere tee, light washed jeans and cognac boots. Within the 1st hour I wore it I got a compliment on it!!! How exciting!!! I promised a picture of me wearing the necklace and here it is =)

Short hair, long hair?

I absolutely LOVE when a celebrity chops their locks off....or anyone for that matter! It's such a bold move that a lot of people are too afraid to take. I think the hardest part about it is about the fear you won't get the cut you're asking for..finding a hair dresser that will do exactly what you want. I've been to too many stylists that butchered my hair instead of achieving the cut I wanted...and when you're getting a lot chopped off, it's pretty important to get it just right!

These celebrities hair were some of my top faves! I myself have very long hair and have been wanting to cut it for awhile....I like looking at these for inspiration!

Swimsuit Model Brooklyn Decker recently cut 10" off! I really like it. It's perfect for spring and it looks easy to maintain. The layers help make it look full and effortless.



Katherine Heigl has come a long way in her movie career and is a recent new mother! Her hair has been short before but not this short, it really works on her!



This style is my favorite!! Kimberly Caldwell is so beautiful and talented. With that smile she can pull off any style. I loveee her short hair the best. Maybe I'll give that a try!
